NYSC DG cautions corps members against drug abuse, cultism


A stern warning against drug abuse and other related offences has been issued to corps members by Brigadier General Mohammed Fadah, Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

At the Permanent Orientation Camp in Dazigau, Nangere Local Government Area, Yobe State, the DG issued the warning on Sunday while speaking to corps members deployed to Yobe State.

Brigadier General Fadah further stated that the NYSC programme has no tolerance for cults while warning participants to avoid abusing social media.

He urged people to avoid nighttime travel, unnecessary ride-sharing, and gathering in vehicles at unofficially designated parks.

On her part, Mrs. Hafsat Yerima, the Yobe State State Coordinator for the NYSC, congratulated the director-general on his appointment and visit to the orientation camp in his home state.

One thousand eight hundred fifty-five corps members have registered for the orientation course in Yobe State, she informed the visiting NYSC boss.

Yerima commended the corps members for their dedication to participating in all the camp activities and for their hard work.
